Dropshipping apps, like Oberlo and Dropified, have become a trend because e-commerce has undoubtedly been booming in recent years. In reality, both millennials and generation x tend to shop online, with 67 percent and 56 percent of them purchasing from online stores. eCommerce stores and dropshipping companies such as Oberlo and Dropified go hand in hand. It’s no surprise that dropshipping is one of the most popular business models to start online.

When it comes to running an eCommerce company that you can expand and scale, automating everything you can do is key to your success. Dropshipping is an easy way to operate an online store since it takes away much of the time-consuming duties of the owner of an online store.

Manufacturing and keeping inventory of items, as well as packaging and shipping them, are some tedious aspects of operating an online store. However, with dropshipping, these are done by a different company, and all you have to do is add and promote the goods in the shop. The risks associated with dropshipping are minimal, with many people having success with dropshipping. It’s all about discovering and searching out the best dropshipping option for you.

In this article, I will compare and contrast Dropified and Oberlo in many different areas so that you can decide which one will suit you best to build a dropshipping store. Now, let’s jump right into the details!

Oberlo Overview

Oberlo
Oberlo

Started in 2015, Oberlo was one of the leading solutions for dropshippers in SaaS. It is now based in Lithuania, where it continues to set a benchmark for other drop-shipping tools on the market. In reality, Oberlo is currently causing ripples not only in the dropshipping market but also in the eCommerce industry as a whole. To date, over 85 million products have been sold on different online platforms around the world.

Now, the secret to Oberlo’s success is its ability to efficiently streamline the drop-shipping pipeline. In essence, it connects drop-shippers to trustworthy suppliers through a holistically integrated framework, which therefore ensures a flow of products between suppliers and shoppers.

Thanks to this framework, eCommerce merchants can now use Oberlo to discover lucrative products from all types of suppliers across the globe. It is designed to make it easy for you to easily browse through different product categories and then find the best ones to be sold to your customers.

However, the sales process does not take place directly on the Oberlo system. Not directly, at least. Instead, Oberlo relies heavily on the Shopify eCommerce platform. You need to incorporate your Shopify app into your Shopify-based store, from where you should be able to import items you’ve found to your dropshipping website. Yes, theoretically, the sales process is essentially made simpler by Shopify.

In the meantime, Oberlo allows you to configure your imported products and to set their corresponding prices using its Global Pricing Rules feature. But it doesn’t end there. See, Oberlo also offers you tools to automate your communications with customers, fulfill orders, monitor your inventory, and track your customer’s shipments from the moment they are delivered by suppliers.

Therefore, all things considered, Oberlo is more of an all-inclusive dropshipping toolset. You can use it to develop your dropshipping business, manage inventory, import items, automate the entire order fulfillment process, and keep track of all your product shipments.

Dropified Overview

Dropified
Dropified

Dropified, at first glance, may feel like a second version of Oberlo. However, once you start digging deeper, you’ll discover the real nitty-gritty that sets them apart. And what exactly am I talking about? First of all, well, Dropified is doing pretty much the same thing as Oberlo. It helps you do extensive research until you discover the perfect products for your dropshipping business. And in the middle of all this, you are still connected to different suppliers from all over the world.

But when it comes to selling, Dropified has a different approach to Oberlo. The first thing you are expected to know about Dropified, for example, is that it supports four eCommerce platforms. Although Oberlo works exclusively with Shopify, Dropified goes beyond that to integrate with WooCommerce, gearbubblePRO, and CommerceHQ. That means you can use Dropified when running a store on any of these four platforms.

And guess what? Dropified tends to be much more versatile even as you move over to product markets. It doesn’t stop like Oberlo at AliExpress. As an online retailer, you can capitalize on it to discover goods across more than 60 markets and platforms. Dropified gives you the ability to scout not only AliExpress, but also Amazon, Etsy, eBay, and more. That’s a lot of choices.

What’s more, Dropified manages to retain the same degree of sophistication when you import the items to your shop. It essentially offers a set of tools to improve conversion and automation capabilities.

For example, you can find a tool called Tube Hunt, which is built to help you with your marketing by finding the related videos on YouTube. Or, on the other hand, the Call Flex tool allows you to make phone interactions with your customers. Other notable features that may be of interest to you include: Google Product Feeds integration, multi-store selling, order auditing, order risk level, etc.

And to sum this all up, Dropified can be said to be useful for product discovery, product import, multi-store distribution, inventory management, automated order execution, shipment monitoring, and customer engagement driving.

Don’t make a mistake though. While these capabilities position Dropified ahead of Oberlo when you compare their combined number of features, it wouldn’t be a good time to draw a conclusion at this stage.

You do have to go through the main drop-shipping processes to get a clear understanding of how and solution functions. Only then you can make an informed decision as to the best choice for your dropshipping company. So, without going any further, let’s dig a little deeper.

Dropified vs Oberlo: Key features

Features
Features

Dropified vs Oberlo comparison: Ease of Use

Oberlo Ease of Use

Although Oberlo is popular for many aspects, the only asset that essentially makes it a true beginner’s sweetheart is its free starter kit. Yeah, well, that’s right. Oberlo is generous enough to launch a permanently free bundle that also comes with the accompanying Oberlo Chrome extension.

Some of the features you can expect here include inventory syncing, product analysis, product import, sales analytics, inventory alerts, automatic product pricing, and an unlimited number of monthly orders. Now that’s a pretty good kit for a typical beginner. However, if you want to have access to more advanced features, the premium packages will cost you at least $29.90 a month.

No matter what you finally settle for, you won’t have any trouble integrating the Oberlo platform with your Shopify store. Only check for the Oberlo dropshipping app in the Shopify App Store, click the install app button. That’s it!

The sad thing is, however, that Oberlo is quite a static system when it comes to third-party integrations. Shopify is the only e-commerce website to work with Oberlo. So, if your store is built on another shopping cart, either you’re going to Shopify or you’re going to forget about selling your stuff with Oberlo.

Now, for Shopify users who want to join the Oberlo Bandwagon, the platform comes in the form of an elegant web-based dashboard. Oberlo’s developers seem to have taken their sweet time to come up with a sleek and user-friendly interface that you’ll find easy to use.

Oberlo Dashboard

The features and menu options are also pretty straightforward, and you should have an easy time linking Oberlo to your online store. Then, you will also want to get yourself the Oberlo Chrome Extension, which is very useful for product and market research.

When all is up and running, you can find that the Oberlo panel offers easy access to sales data as well as resources for order management, inventory management, and monitoring. This has served as the key vantage point from which you can monitor, manage, and coordinate your goods.

And talking about this, one of the first things you’re probably going to do here is looking for products to sell. I would advise you to concentrate primarily on Oberlo’s own product supply because it gives you access to a range of vendors that have been properly tested by the site.

Then when you begin to get used to how everything is going, you can go ahead and import the most promising items into your shop. Luckily, this whole procedure is easily automated for further convenience. In addition, Oberlo allows you to customize your goods by making adjustments to the initial dropshipping supplier information that comes with the products. More precisely, you can customize product names, product pictures, plus corresponding product details.

After all, is done, all imported goods can be monitored on either Oberlo or Shopify. The catalog is well-arranged on the Shopify dashboard, from where you can easily manage sales processes.

Dropified Ease of Use

Unlike Oberlo, Dropified does not offer a free plan but only a free trial, which lasts just two weeks. Then, after the time ends, Dropified will charge you at least $39 a month to continue using its software.

That said, the best benefit of Dropified is its inclusiveness. In addition to the native Shopify app, the application is available as add-ons for WooCommerce, CommerceHQ, and gearbubblePRO.

Even if that doesn’t come close to the variety of options you’d expect from a world-renowned drop-shipping solution, it’s still a better deal than what you get from Oberlo. And as you’ve probably already noticed, you’ll find different versions of the Dropified app on their respective platform marketplaces.

For example, the Dropified Shopify app is available on the Shopify App Store. Installation should then be as simple as searching for an app and then hitting Install. All in all, it only takes a minute or two to link Dropified to your online store. And when you do, you can’t help but note that the interface here is almost similar to that of Oberlo in several different ways.

The overall interface style, for example, is remarkably similar to Oberlo’s dashboard-from setting up menus and bars to arranging tools and tabs. And their color scheme is somewhat identical.

Dropified’s dashboard

It’s worth noting, however, that Dropified could take you longer to learn ropes because it comes with a lot of resources packed into one app. Another interesting thing is that the process of adding items is not as simple as Oberlo’s. Dropified does not display them on its dashboard automatically. You can only discover the goods after moving to the Chrome Extension, which is very inconvenient.

Conclusion – Dropified vs Oberlo on Ease of Use (Winner: Oberlo)

While both of these systems are elegantly built, it seems that Oberlo is simpler to use than Dropified. It is focused on all-round simplicity, while Dropified’s advanced functions can be confusing at first. In addition, Oberlo’s dashboard shows all available product options, while Dropified requires you to switch to its additional Chrome extension.

Dropified vs Oberlo comparison: Chrome Extension

Oberlo Chrome Extension

Oberlo is easy to use, and thanks to its new Chrome extension, it’s getting better. Basically, the Oberlo Chrome Extension is a simple tool designed to provide additional functionality when searching for items on the AliExpress marketplace.

It works hand-in-hand with the main Oberlo app to help you quickly find the best goods and suppliers as you browse through the marketplace. That means you don’t have to switch to another browser window or log in to the main Oberlo dashboard.

But how are you going to even get the tool? Ok, the best thing is, the Chrome Extension is fully free. So, you don’t have to worry about paying even one cent more than the standard pricing of your plan. You can get it directly from the Google Chrome Extension Store. Only check for Oberlo and then install the app. This is it.

Now, when you log in and start discovering different options on the AliExpress website, the Oberlo Chrome Extension offers a set of sorting filters. It helps you to filter through products based on criteria such as country of origin, shipping service, and category. You also get to see the specifics of how much each it would cost to ship.

At the end of the day, you can go ahead and pick your selected pieces, and then send them to your product import list. Other than that, the Oberlo Chrome Extension gives you the luxury of putting and dealing with AliExpress orders. Unfortunately, though, it’s not going beyond AliExpress. It only operates with a single marketplace.

Dropified Chrome Extension

Just like Oberlo’s extension, the Dropified Chrome Extension comes in handy when you need to effortlessly find products in a third-party marketplace, after which you can import them directly to your online store. It saves you the trouble of coordinating things with the main Dropified dashboard.

Its Chrome Extension is also available in the Google Extension Store. All you need to do is search, install, and then sign in with your account credential. Now, this is where the differences between the two begin to emerge. You’ll notice, for example, that Dropified’s Chrome Extension doesn’t provide as many solid product filters as Oberlo does.

Dropified’s Chrome extension
Dropified’s Chrome extension

That said, it’s still pretty effective to crawl through marketplace options to generate a solid list of potential products. Plus, the Chrome Extension is capable of issuing alerts in the event of a change in the price or availability of the product.

The primary advantage of Oberlo’s Chrome Extension over Oberlo’s is market flexibility. While this is only working on AliExpress, Dropified seamlessly integrates AliExpress, Amazon, Walmart, eBay, Etsy, and many more. This makes it the perfect tool for dynamic drop-shipping companies looking to work with all kinds of suppliers.

Conclusion – Dropified vs Oberlo on Chrome Extension (Winner: Dropified)

Both Oberlo and Dropified offer very helpful Chrome extensions, making things much easier for dropshippers. You could either use it to find products of interest from relevant suppliers around the globe and then import them to your online store.

Oberlo’s Chrome Extension shines particularly when it comes to sorting through product options. Dropified, in comparison, offers multi-platform support. You can count on this great tool to run smoothly on a number of popular online markets, while Oberlo is limited to AliExpress. So, if you want more product options, you’re basically using the Chrome Extension.

Dropified vs Oberlo comparison: Order Processing

Oberlo Order Processing

One area where Oberlo sets itself apart from most of the other drop-shipping solutions is order fulfillment. It does a great job of empowering the traditional product discovery function with automated order fulfillment, and how exactly does it handle the entire process?

Well, basically, it saves you the trouble of tracking every single product at every stage of the execution pipeline. The process itself starts at your Shopify store as soon as you receive a customer order.

At this point, you just need to click the “Order Product” button in Oberlo and the system will immediately switch to action. You can therefore rest easy as Oberlo proceeds to reach out to your suppliers and coordinate the delivery of the customer on your behalf. But it doesn’t end there. Oberlo also auto-updates your inventory, plus tracks every single shipment to give you accurate real-time info.

Dropified Order Processing

Dropified is a strong rival to Oberlo when it comes to order fulfillment. It carries a host of tools that enable multi-level automation to give you unmatched drop-shipping convenience and performance. In the event that you receive an order, for example, you can rely on Dropified’s auto-fill engine to handle it for you. Only a single click on each order is enough to set the order.

Dropified order processing

On top of that, Dropified also leverages an advanced Captcha Solver that goes ahead and responds to all the captchas during order placement. As a consequence, the entire order fulfillment process can proceed smoothly in the context.

Now, in case multiple orders come in at once, Dropified allows you to select all orders and place everything in a queue. This is a feature you’re not going to find on Oberlo. Well, guess what? Dropified further outshines Oberlo in the production of the bundled products. While this will force you to manually track each product in your order bundle, Dropified simplifies everything through automated bundle execution.

You can therefore easily process orders containing packages of products from different suppliers spread across different locations. In addition, other exclusive features that you can capitalize on as you process orders from your customers include the CallFlex tool, ePacket ID for multiple countries, enabling risk level orders, custom vendor notes, auto-addition of order tags, etc.

Conclusion – Dropified vs Oberlo on Order Processing (Winner: Dropified)

It is commendable that Oberlo and Dropified take their order processing functions very seriously. Each packs enough power to automate the entire order fulfillment process from the moment you select the outstanding customer orders all the way to the package delivery.

The main difference, however, is that Oberlo offers only the basic tools for order processing, while Dropified comes with a much wider range of automation options. This makes it a dynamically flexible solution for automating order fulfillment on behalf of growing drop-shipping companies.
