In this article, I’ll show you how to add and change a favicon to your Shopify store on different devices, such as Desktop, iPhone, and Android.

Creating a Favicon on your Shopify Store
Shopify store owners can easily use a free favicon generator website to create and customize the favicon. To find a favicon generator, search the internet for “free favicon generator.”
However, the ideal image size for the favicon is about 16x16 pixels or 32x32 pixels. If the favicon image size is too large, you need to reduce it to 32x32 pixels when uploading it to Shopify.
Adding or Changing a Favicon to your Shopify Store
Favicon is only added to your Shopify online store if you are on the Basic Shopify plan or higher. You can’t add the favicon to your Shopify store if you are on the Starter plan.

Step 1: From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store => “Themes”.

Step 2: Choose the theme you want to add to the favicon and click on the “Customize” button.

Step 3: Next, click on the icon referring to the Theme Settings.

Step 4: Depending on your current theme, click “Logo” to add the favicon image.

Step 5: In the Favicon image section do one of the following: Click “Explore free images” to choose an image from Shopify’s library of free favicon images.
Click “Select image” to select an image you have uploaded to your Shopify store or to upload the image from your computer by hitting “Add images”.
You can also change the favicon by pressing the “Change” button.

Step 6: Click “Save” to save all the changes.

Step 7: Optional: Add ALT text to your favicon image by clicking on the image and entering a brief description of the image in the Alt text field.
Then click the “Save as new” button.
- Step 8: Hit the “Save” button.
